why do church goes think they are so much better than everyone!

I had many people that didnt even know me come up to me and tell me oh im going to hell oh you need to not drink dont watch that on tv. I had many people give me dirty looks like they despise me and if that is what it is all about why would i want to be part of that. I am not a christian and I smile and treat everyone the same.

Dear Hellbound,

I had a few people tell me that because of things I had done I was going to Hell. Some of my first thoughts were...who is this person that thinks they can tell me that I am going to hell? At the time I thought I am a good person why would I go to hell. I am not evil, I don't go around killing people or even hurting them for that matter. That strong statement from someone telling me that I was going to hell keep me on the out skirts of wanting to know God for a long time. I thought similiar to you if there is a God why does he allow these things. Does He set people up? I can answer you from my point of view. One of the greatest things God has done is given us free will. He has given us the right to think whatever we want. Whether what we think hurts Him or not. You see in the beginning God did not want to have this kind of relationship with us. Actually it wasn't this way at all. Everything was great here on earth between man and God. But by choice man kind disobeyed one simple little criteria that God had commanded that we not do. Kind of like when your father here on earth asks you not to do something and you do it anyway...if your parent loves you they will correct you. Most times correcting comes through punishment. Thats how we learn. As people we are very selfish creatures and usually we won't pay attention to things unless it affects us directly. So it is sad but punishment is most affective. But so is reward. And God does reward us. You just have to get to know Him better. God is not going to force you to love Him or talk to Him or get to know Him. How would you feel if you made someone love you or talk to you or get to know you? Wouldn't it be more fulfilling if they did so out of their own free will? Tell God that you want to get to know Him and see what He starts to do for you. That's what I did.

I think its not about the church its about the person some people have issues even if the attend religous services. Is says on here that you dont have to change yourself come as you are. Hope that help and god only know how much helps I need. LOL
